GRANDPARENTS’ DAY 2017-2018
September 29th, 2017 @ MAIN STREET (1-3) & Kindergarten Center (K)
Main Street & Kindergarten Grandparents,
Main Street Elementary School would like to invite you to attend “Grandparents’ Day.” You have a special role & we want you to see your grandchild in their school environment to go with their school stories and allow the students to show off their work and friends.
The plan relies on a fairly strict schedule of rotations to accommodate all of the students and grandparents with the time constraints, parking and facilities available. We are asking that you RSVP by Wednesday, September 27th by either calling the Main Street School @ 217-774-4731 or by communicating with the teacher by email or note with student.
We ask that you not plan to take your grandchild with you to lunch. It is a special and busy day for the event and we have PTO Fundraiser activities scheduled during lunch that date too.
Main Street Elementary School is handicap accessible to the first floor where all 1st grade classrooms are. However, there are stairs to the gym and to the second floor and there is not a ramp or a chair lift. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The times sessions are separated by grade level & the chart below describes the rotation & times.
MAIN STREET: (1-3)
- PLAN (A): (3) ROTATIONS w/ MUSIC “FINALE!”
- 1st Grade @ 8:15 AM – 9:30 AM
- 2nd Grade @ 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
- 3rd Grade @ 12:45 PM – 2:00 PM
- PLAN (B): (3) ROTATIONS w/ Ø MUSIC “FINALE” & MUSIC Session becomes
KINDERGARTEN: @ Shelbyville Kindergarten Center (front of High School)
MUSIC PERFORMANCE w/ (2) ROTATIONS
- K @ 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM
Grandparents may sign-out student if on file with the school @ 2:45 PM
