Shelbyville High School honored students today at an Academic Awards Assembly. Students were recognized for their performance from the 4th Quarter and 2nd Semester of last school year.
Students that have placed on the Honor Roll for three consecutive semesters received an academic letter. For each succeeding semester a student is on the Honor Roll, they receive a chevron.
Students that hit certain benchmarks for grades, attendance and lack of discipline from 4th Quarter last school year received recognition as a Golden Horn or Silver Hoof. As part of the recognition, students received coupons for free items from local businesses. Golden Horns were also entered in a drawing for $200 worth of gift cards from local businesses.
We would like to thank the following businesses for their donation to the Golden Horns/Silver Hooves student incentive program from last year and the start of this year: Casey's, Druby's, Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Monical's, Lithia Springs Marina, Simply Yours, Iced, Subway, Joe's Pizza, Walmart, Lux Spa, The Roxy, Longbranch, My Little Bird, Leach Wilson Chevrolet-Buick, Pro-Lube, the local United Way and Sara Bush Lincoln.
We would also like to give special thanks to the Shelbyville Booster Club for their support every quarter.
