High School Volleyball

The health and safety of our community and student athletes are of the utmost importance.  Please note that the following restrictions have been developed in response to the expectations established by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

A total of 520 spectators will be allowed in the gym at one time (25% of capacity).  For high school volleyball games occurring in Shelbyville, tickets will be equitably distributed to all those involved.  2 tickets will be provided to each player on the opposing team.

All high school games will be live streamed on the NFHS Network.

  • At all home competitions, 520 spectator tickets will be equitably distributed.  Those student athletes will provide available game passes to spectator(s) interested in attending.  Having a spectator pass will guarantee entry into the home volleyball game.

  • After tickets have been distributed, all other available space within the spectator limitations (IDPH All Sports Policy) will be offered to Shelbyville fans on a first come first serve basis at the ticket gate.  High school students will be allowed entry absent of parental guardianship.  All other students/children must be accompanied by an adult guardian when attending home volleyball games.

  • Whether or not spectators are allowed -at away games- will be determined by the host school.  School administration will communicate spectator policy for away games with coaches and parents prior to the event occurrence.

  • The gym will NOT be cleared of spectators between grade level competitions (F/S, JV, Varsity).

  • The traveling team will have access to the event facility 30 minutes prior to the start of the game.  Spectators will be allowed entry 15 minutes before the start of the contest.

  • Spectators, game managers, and participants must wear face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times.  A social distance of at least 3ft-6ft. should be maintained between non-household individuals.

  • Temperature screenings will occur for all in attendance at the indoor event.  Self certification of COVID 19 symptoms will be required upon entry into the facility.

  • Sport organizers will maintain an attendance log of participants, spectators, and game managers for contact tracing purposes.

  • Seating for home spectators will be available in all areas of the gymnasium.  If traveling spectators are allowed by host schools during away contests, the seating options will be predetermined and communicated upon arrival.

  • Access to locker rooms will be prohibited.  Participants should arrive at the venue dressed for play.  Additionally, participants should bring their own source of water and refrain from using any communal sources of hydration.

  • At this time, attendance fees will not be accepted at any spectator events in the Shelbyville School District.  For all who wish to contribute, donations will be accepted on behalf of Shelbyville Rams Athletics upon entry.

  • A concession stand will not be available.  Please refrain from bringing any food or drinks into the facility.

  • Access to live streaming will be available at all events occurring within the Shelbyville School District.  All games will be live streamed using the NFHS Network and the Pixellot Camera System installed at Shelbyville High School.

Violations of the policy will result in removal from the contest and possibly further events.  If the family of an involved student is in need of additional tickets, we ask that you first inquire with other parents about unused tickets, before checking with school administration or the associated coaching staff.
