HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital donates (50) RAM Purple water-bottles & (2) cases of bottled water to assist in safe "in-person" protocols @ Main Street School!
The project was organized by the "Mission Team" at Good Shepherd. A change collection entitled, “Make a Change,” was taken up to purchase the water bottles.
The water bottles will be given directly to our students who need one.

This afternoon, the Governor of Illinois suspended in person instruction for the remainder of the school year and districts will rely on their Remote Learning Plans. As decisions are made on cleaning out lockers and end of year events, we will share it with you.

Mrs. Bennett's class working on their Wax Museum project. For this assignment, the students were asked to select a famous person, read and research about their life, and write a five paragraph paper on the individual. Upcoming tasks will include creating a poster and becoming the famous person during a Wax Museum presentation. All 5th grade students will be participating in this project.

We are disappointed to announce that this special event, Kindergarten "Family Reading Night," is cancelled for tonight (2/6) due to hazardous roads and weather conditions as Shelbyville schools are cancelled for Thurs, Feb. 6th. All extracurricular activities are also cancelled.

Shelbyville Schools Teachers’ Institute (10/18) w/ pre-K to HS TEAM collaboration utilizing an #edcamp model w/ our own talented teachers sharing. Teachers were surveyed on topics of interest & then chose top (3) to create a schedule of options w/ the most teacher interest to discuss & learn together.

Thank you to Detective Richard Wistocki, Cyber Crimes officer, and SBL's Women Connected for today's presentation on cyber crimes! The information presented will help our students stay safer.

Aside from being a practicing medical doctor, Dr. Craig Brown is a world renown inventor and entrepreneur. He has multiple patented designs, the most well-known being his Dr. Brown Baby Bottle. As a resident of our Shelbyville community, Dr. Brown delivered an impactful and empowering messaging to our senior class last week in the first scheduled senior seminar.

We are so thankful to the PTO and The Walking Classroom for funding this program. Homecoming afternoon events have been cancelled due to the weather. High school students will be allowed to leave at 2:15 today if they have transportation. Students that need to ride the bus home will remain at school until normal dismissal time. Football game time remains 7:00.

The SHS Envirothon Team competed on April 12th at Ballard Nature Center in Altamont placed 1st out of all the teams in Shelby County. We also Placed 3rd in the overall competition and scored a 96% on the Rangelands of the USA Test. Great Job!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This morning the Shelbyville Police Department made the school district aware of a threatening message posted on Facebook that referenced SHS. After investigation by the police department it was determined that the message was not referencing Shelbyville High School. The district is grateful to our local law enforcement for their support in ensuring our students’ safety.
We also appreciate our students and community members who make us aware of situations that require further investigation.

Shelbyville High School's Class of 2018 graduation date has been set. It will be May 19th at 7:00 PM on the football field. If the weather does not cooperate, it will be in the gym.
(WAND)–2nd & 3rd grade students @ Main Street have been using Google Chromebooks, thanks to donations from local businesses.

Remembrance Wreath Project
Thank you to everyone for supporting the Remembrance Wreath project. We had overwhelming encouragement from numerous individuals and organizations. As always, we welcome feedback and fresh ideas that might help this project improve next year.
This year we placed 100+ wreaths in Glenwood Cemetery. The students were also given a guided tour which highlighted local history. The project was at 4:00pm on WAND on December 7th and will be included in the local newspaper publications.
