Event Expectations

Please understand that full compliance is both expected and appreciated.  This has required a considerable amount of coordination, and we have done everything we can to make this ceremonial experience possible for our senior level students.

There will be designated sections of seating for both students and spectators.  Graduates will be seated at the center of the football field, and spectators in attendance will be allowed to sit within either the bleachers, or along the east/west side of the field.  Spectators should plan to bring their own lawn chair.  Within each section, individuals are encouraged to follow the social distancing recommendation of 6 feet of separation between individuals/families.

The Shelbyville School District is able to safely accommodate large groups within its facilities, and therefore, will not be placing a limit on the amount of guests that are allowed to attend this outdoor experience.

Use of PPE equipment, including mandatory face masks, will be required for all in attendance at the event.  Students and event facilitators will be excluded from this expectation when upon they enter the stage area to receive their diploma.

IDPH reminders and recommendations for health and public safety will be posted for public viewing at the event.

At this time, diplomas will not be issued on the stage per ISBE recommendation.  Seniors will be directed to pick up their diploma and their senior athletic poster at the school entrance area after they have been dismissed from the field.
